Schroth´s Treatment
His method of treatment was established in the first half of the 19thcentury by Johann Schroth, a folk healer. It was originally a universal
treatment to deal with any disease. In the first half of the 20th century,
this method began to be used to deal with obesity.
Schroth´s treatment included three steps of applied mugginess, complex wraps, and strict diet. The diet was salt-free, containing carbohydrates without animal proteins and fat, and there was a radical reduction of liquid intake, which was substituted by wine and brandy.
Schroth´s method of treatment can still be used today, as a preventive and
purgatory treatment preventing sclerosis arterial or stimulating the
suprarenal function with the aim to activate the organism´s own defensive
powers, and to support the overall recovery. It is not designed to reduce
excess weight.
